Even with its great location steps from the heart of downtown Menlo Park, 855 Oak Grove’s volcanic rock facade and underutilized courtyard made it less than desirable for larger tech companies, our client’s target tenant.
Brick’s design turns a shabby courtyard into a central amenity, creates more generous tenant suites, and upgrades finishes, accessibility and building safety.

Existing windows were replaced with 8’6” tall storefront glazing systems throughout the building. A 19-foot wide folding door system now opens from a new cafe to a semi-private outdoor balcony. Instead of sloping concrete and irregular planters, the reimagined courtyard features modern stone pavers and a wood deck, with breakout spaces furnishings for small meetings. An original concrete and mosaic tile fountain was restored.

Exposed roof and floor joists replace the old acoustical tile system. The interior was reconfigured to accommodate a variety of meeting rooms and huddle spaces. The main entry portal is fully accessible, generously landscaped, and includes a clear-glass storefront so the building interior courtyard can be secured yet visible.
