The most eye-opening part of Tanya Retherford’s education was learning approaches to architecture that are not commonly visible to those who don’t study it. She fell in love with the diverse knowledge sphere that an architectural degree has to offer.

introspective, genuine, expressive.

Her work on a variety of smaller projects, including building additions, design-build projects, and schematic design feasibility studies gave her insight into the building process in a fast-paced format. Her favorite thing about the built environment is observing the ways people use space in cities. She believes that people can become more intimate with places they create by feeling the materials. At brick, Tanya has used that knowledge to scale up her work in the commercial sector, both in size and complexity.
