Working in different countries also taught Rouel about dexterity and allowed design to evolve from the multiple, incoming (sometimes crashing) trajectories inherent in large, chaotic cities. Rouel has dabbled in landscape design, 250m towers, mixed-use retail, office, and hotel conceptual designs. However, he is consistently drawn to sustainability, not just in building performance but also in building relationships and community. He is always called back to the hand-drawn sketch for inspiration. Rouel’s experience has brought him to his role as Senior Design Director at brick, where he continues to expand his knowledge of the built world as a well-rounded, technically excellent generalist.
