A little-known fact:
San Francisco’s “Tenderloin” is a historic district. This neighborhood in the heart of the city is ground zero for the struggle between San Francisco’s history and current realities—between existing residents, businesses, and tech workers.
A recent article in online housing pub SF Curbed gave an encouraging review of brick’s design for a project at 550 O’Farrell in the core of the neighborhood. While the city’s regulations are many, the design still manages to both blend and uplift the neighborhood, while at the same time maximizing density.
