We wanted to let you know about Rob’s fundraising efforts for the Alameda County Community Food Bank (ACCFB) This is a cause very near and dear to his heart and to the heart of the c510 cycling team. c510 is a group of local east bay riders 30 strong who love to be out on our local roads training and competing. Rob feels incredibly fortunate to have good health and a beautiful natural setting in which to ride! For Rob, this annual fundraiser is a way to give back to the community. In the last four years, Rob’s cycling club has raised over $60,000 for the ACCFB, which has provided over 120,000 meals to people who really need the help! This year, Rob is going for a personal best and is working to raise $8,000 for the ACCFB.
The 3rd installment of the event was a huge success, raising $25,000 for the Food Bank! The team even got a little tv time on kpix:
The Alameda County Community Food Bank provides a massive resource to families in the East Bay – particularly to children and elderly people. Because of the partner and affiliate organizations that support the ACCFB, they are able to consolidate donations and buying power to provide meals to literally 1 out of every 5 residents in Alameda County. Amazing!
We invite you to support this essential organization. It’s easy!
- Go to the donation portal by clicking this link:
https://www.vfd-accfb.org/selectgroup.aspx?ID=6839 - Look for ‘rob zirkle’ in the list and click Shop/Donate button.
while you can buy a certain amount of a specific food, the food bank would prefer a general donation. - Enter your donation amount and then provide your credit card number and contact information.
please note that the donation portal is open until 8/19/2018
Don’t forget that your donation is 100% tax deductible. the ACCFB will provide a proper receipt with their tax id for your records upon donation.
In previous installments of this fundraising drive we have hosted an awesome day of riding and a great barbecue at the finish. We are looking forward to this 4th installment and have rebranded the event and have created a new course to suit the number of people that love to get out there on our amazing local road and trails. The newly titled “East Bay Dirt Classic” will take riders along some of the most scenic roads and trails in the East Bay hills – a truly beautiful and challenging course. Check it out if you are interested in participating in the ride itself.
thank you in advance for your support!
